St Francois Girls’ fete on Friday

In celebration of its 50th anniversary, St Francois Girls’ College will hold its annual Carnival fete on Friday at St John’s Hall, Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain. “It’s the best party of the season. People don’t know that,” said acting vice-principal Susanne Roget, promising the tenth edition of the all-inclusive party would be the best yet. “We’re going all out.” The menu includes barbecued pigtail, suckling pork, Guyanese pepper pot, curried rabbit and Thai style fish. Kes the Band and Dil-e-Nadan will headline the cast of performers. There will be a premium bar, too—all for the price of $550. The school boasts it is “the most reasonably priced fete in town.”

The fete is in aid of updating the school’s equipment. St Francois is a magnet school for business and in 2011 it celebrated two students winning national scholarships. Tickets for the St Francois Girls’ College all-inclusive are available at Crosby’s, St James; Cleve’s, Port of-Spain, and at the school, St Francois Valley Road, Belmont. The school accepts LINX payments. For information, call 624-3468.
