Get your digital Guardian Independence special issue

T&T Guardian readers line up to buy limited edition copies of the commemorative Independence issue of the paper at the Guardian building on St Vincent Street, Port of Spain this morning. In response to overwhelming demand, limited copies are on sale today from Guardian offices at St Vincent Street, Chancery Lane, San Fernando, and Mid Centre Mall, Chaguanas.
A digital version of the special commemorative issue of the T&T Guardian will be available online from Tuesday, September 4.
Published to mark the occasion of T&T’s 50th anniversary of Independence, this commemorative issue contains pages from the  Guardian from August 1962. This unique publication is exclusive to the T&T Guardian, the only national daily newspaper whose tradition dates back as far as Independence. The special Independence issue contains news stories, photos and special articles commissioned for the occasion from leading writers including Derek Walcott, CLR James, Dr JD Elder, architect John Newel Lewis and folklorist and artist Alfred Codallo.
The special commemorative issue of the T&T Guardian will be available on Tuesday morning to all subscribers of the Guardian’s e-edition.
