Man charged with amputee’s murder
A San Fernando man appeared before a Scarborough Magistrate yesterday charged with the murder of a 90-year-old woman.
Rudy Bissoon, 52, a painter of Gopaul Street, San Fernando, was charged with the murder of Neila Samuel who was killed between March 24 and March 29.
Samuel’s decomposing corpse was found in her Milford Road, Scarborough home on March 29. Samuel, an amputee, lived alone.
The suspect was held driving Samuel’s Nissan Juke vehicle at Crown Point hours after the body was found.
Samuel’s decomposing body was found on the flooring in the toilet area of the house, while her prosthetic leg was found some distance away. Homicide officers suspected foul play, however, an autopsy conducted by Eslyn Mc Donald-Burris proved to be inconclusive.
Cpl Taylor of the Tobago Homicide laid the charges.
